Thank you everyone … many hands make light work!
It is with much regret that we inform you the 2018 Western Canada Rose of Tralee will not go ahead this year and instead will be pushed over to 2019.
Along with other Rose centres, there appears to be a decline in the number of applicants. There is currently a review, by the board in Tralee, to hold the event every other year instead of yearly. Each Centre would alternate and hold an event every other year and every centre will have the opportunity to have a live interview on RTE television.
Thank you for your support and we look forward to a more successful event in 2019.
It only comes once a year, so get your tickets while they’re still available!
Saturday, March 11 we have the St. Patrick’s Day Dinner Dance. Featuring a fantastic roast beef dinner, music from Allen & Hobbs, tickets are only $30 for members and $35 for non-members.
Tickets for St. Patrick’s Day itself are available too. Friday, March 17 (yes, we know the date is wrong on the tickets…) starts first thing in the morning with a full breakfast (only $5 once you’re through the doors) and the GAA Club Finals. Throughout the day there will be Irish dance performances and music, as well as food specials in the kitchen. Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the door.
On Saturday, we’re keeping the party going with Vibram Souls playing in the evening. There’s only a $5 cover charge for this great band, and proceeds will be donated to charity.
Come down and buy your tickets while they’re still around! See you this March at the Irish Centre!!
Do you have some spare time and love festivals?
Heritage Days is one of the biggest festivals in Edmonton and is attended by thousands of people from around the world.
Every year the Irish Centre calls out for volunteers to get involved and support ourIrish community. This year, we need another group of dedicated volunteers to make the Irish Pavilion a success!
You don’t need any special skills or experience. Maybe you want to learn how to make some traditional Irish food or just meet some wonderful new Irish (and non-Irish!) friends … just sign up.
It takes a village to make the Ireland pavilion a huge success and we are very proud of our volunteers. Let`s make 2016 another brilliant year!
Sign up sheets – available at the Irish Centre or let us know that you’re interested by contacting:
