Singer/songwriter/actor Damian McGinty was born in Derry, Northern Ireland. In 2007 he joined Celtic Thunder. In 2011 Damian won The Glee Project and landed a role in the tv series Glee.

Damian self-produced an EP in late 2012. In 2013/14, he was busy with PBS specials ‘This is the Moment’ & ‘The Power of Music’ which was then followed with a US tour.

2015 brought Damian back on tour with Celtic Thunder and into 2016 through Australia and North American. He worked on his first solo CD, This Christmas Time, and then to his first solo tour in December to promote his CD.

In early 2017, Damian helped actress Roma Downey and Mark Burnett launch Light Works Media. Damian teamed up again with Celtic Thunder for a Symphony Tour as well as a 10th Anniversary Celtic Thunder Cruise. Damian was then cast in the lead role of film, Santa Fake, (Nov. 2018). Damian’s EP of original songs to be released Spring 2018.

What began as Celtic Thunder’s Neil Byrne and Ryan Kelly performing a series of shows together called ‘Acoustic By Candlelight’ back in 2012 has turned into what is now known as Byrne and Kelly. Driven by dynamic vocal harmonies, the duo seamlessly dives into combining genres like traditional Irish and Americana to create a fresh, Celtic folk sound.

Their 2016 release of ‘Echoes’ – a collection of original tracks and one well known Irish classic. With fellow musicians Nicole Hudson and Peter Sheridan the album features songs that highlight their rich, Irish culture and experiences traveling the world playing music. Echoes received immediate chart success on the iTunes World Music chart, Billboard, Amazon Traditional Folk, Amazon Traditional British & Folk and more.

Byrne & Kelly Back in Edmonton — Get your tickets!

byrnekellyAfter an amazing sold show in 2014, the Edmonton Irish Sports & Social Society is happy to announce that Byrne and Kelly will be back performing on Saturday, July 16, 2016. This promising event will include new, original music as well as your favourite Irish classics.

The Irish Centre will remain open  after the concert until last call.

Their first two albums Acoustically Irish and Live in Australia received awards and hit number #1 in Billboard’s world album category, as well as on  iTunes, Amazon World Album and cdbaby.

Lunasa in Concert this Thursday

Lunasa picIf you’re looking for some great Irish music, look no further.  The internationally acclaimed band Lunasa will be playing at the Irish Centre on Thursday, April 14.

Doors open at 6:30 PM and the show starts at 8PM. Tickets are $30 and will be available at the door.

The band is internationally acknowledged as being the finest traditional Irish instrumental outfit of recent times. They are renowned for their stunning shows honed by superb musicianship and a constant touring cycle. They have performed over 1,500 shows across 36 countries since the band formed in 1997. The band has appeared at internationally renowned venues such as The Hollywood Bowl, National Concert Hall (Dublin), Sydney Opera House and Moscow International House of Music. They have been invited to appear at the White House.
