Covid-19 – ISSS Executive Response – May 12th Update

As a result of the AB Government’s relaunch strategy and much discussion by the majority of the Executive members; it was decided to re-open the Irish Centre effective Thurs., May 14 @ 4:00 p.m., with the following restrictions:

  • Limited capacity of 50 people including staff
  • Social distancing of at least 2 meters (6 feet)
  • NO bar service…table service ONLY

Along with the above restrictions, the following must also be adhered to:

  • The Centre will be open to 2020 Members ONLY.
    Memberships for 2020 can be renewed through mail or at the Centre. We will be checking memberships and if you do not have a current membership and you want to visit the Centre, you will have to purchase one
  • Kids are NOT allowed in the Centre at this time due to the social distancing restriction
  • With the limited capacity of 50% and the social distancing or 2 meters, the maximum capacity allowed at the Centre will be 50 people
  • There will be NO service or seating at the bar area. Table service ONLY. There will be four people per table. Each table is set up with a maximum of four chairs. Extra chairs and not allowed nor is putting tables together
  • The snug area is closed to members
  • Live music, bookings, and functions (including card playing & darts) is not permitted
  • Please do not come to the Centre if you are not feeling well, have been in contact with someone not feeling well, or traveled in the last 14 days
  • Do not touch your eyes, nose or mouth
  • Cough or sneeze into a tissue or sleeve
  • Members are advised to wash their hands with soap & water frequently
  • Hand sanitizer will be available for use

This is just for the interim until the AB Government or health officials give us a different direction.

This is a trying time for everyone and we trying our best to make this work for members & staff. We will take this one step at a time and make any necessary adjustments along the way.

Patience and Respect towards the staff and each other is expected and nothing but will be tolerated.

We ask your patience in the kitchen as well. For now, it will be open but with a limited menu. Kitchen condiments will be available but in individual packets. Hand sanitizer will also be on the kitchen bar area for your use.

Temporary Hours of Operation:
Wed., Thurs., & Fri. 4:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
Sat. 2:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
Sun. 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

New Year’s Eve Dinner & Dance

Cocktails @6:00 pm
Dinner @7:00 pm
Entertainment @9:00 pm – Black Velvet Show Band

Members price: $60
Non-Members price: $70

Tickets at the bar starting Dec 4th – please purchase no later than December 24th to help with catering totals!

Tickets include dinner & dessert with a glass of wine, a live band for dancing the night away and champagne & party favours for toasting in the new year!

FAMILY CHRISTMAS PARTY

MEMBERS ONLY

Sat, Dec 21st starting at 3:00 pm

There will be a magic show with a live bunny!

The highlight for the kids will be a visit from Santa & Mrs. Claus. Children 11 and under will receive a gift.

A turkey dinner with all the trimmings will be served at 6:00 pm for a cost of $20 for adults and children over the age of 11. – Tickets purchased in advanced by Dec 7th.

Children must be signed up in order to receive a gift. Children sign up at the Irish Centre till DECEMBER 1ST.

It is with deep sorry that we morn the loss of another one of our members at the Irish Centre….Matt Monaghan.
Those of you who knew Matt knew he was a quiet, gentle man who loved music and in particular the fiddle.
